Mortal Kombat Mythologies has, like all MK games, also got a story.
 
The story of MKM

As you know, this game is about the ice cold ninja Sub-Zero.
Sub-Zero is looking for the amulet of Shinnok.
Shinnok is an old god who misbehaved in the past and was locked up in the Netherrealm by Rayden. The amulet that gave Shinnok godly powers is hidden by Rayden somewhere in China.
and now Sub-Zero has to find this amulet. To find this amulet, he must first steal  'The Map Of Elements' out of the Shaolin Temple. While searching, he meets other MK characters who are (of course) very jealous. Your main enemy is Scorpion. He arrears from time to time. Scorpion is also sent after the amulet (in this game you can find out why Sub-Zero and Scorpion don't get along with each other very well).

 
Why is MKM different from the other MK games?

-MKM is a platform game. So you don't just fight, but also search for the next level.
-In MKM you can only play Sub-Zero.
-In Mortal Kombat Mythologies  you can steal the special moves of other characters by defeating them. You begin with the standard Sub-Zero moves.
-You can climb.
